Impacts
All of the services delivered by the GC Facility will aim to contribute towards the following impact targets at a global level based on national level targets:
- Reduced natural habitat conversion
- Increased biodiversity within production sites and agricultural landscapes
- Improved water management
- Reduced net Green House Gas (GHG) emissions of commodities
- Increased long term income for poor farmers and equity within commodity supply chains.
- Reduced food insecurity
Outcomes
- Increased public and private investment in green commodity production through changes in investment flows resulting from demonstrated value of sustainable agriculture to governments and markets, showing the economic value of ecosystem services and financing mechanisms.
- Strengthened links between buyers and producers through improved supply chain management.
- Scaled up support to micro, small and medium size green commodity based enterprises to orientate their practices to be more environmentally sustainable and focused on biodiversity conservation.
- Public policy reform, planning and investment in land use planning, biodiversity conservation, government extension and enforcement services
- Strengthened links between retailers, brands and consumers through increased consumer recognition of their purchasing power from education and labelling/certification.
